Review: Runners

Taste: We bought this snack without any hesitation because our Chief Snacks Officer and most of our usual snack tasters are runners, so having a snack named after us seemed like a really cool thing. One glance at the front of the bag revealed that the actual snacks were shaped like cars, not runners, but still, we liked the name. The car at the bottom left of the bag looked a lot like a VW Beetle, and the former Chipmobile (retired in 2012) was a VW Beetle, so that was even more reason to like these. We opened the bag to find that the actual shapes of the cars were flatter than the ones pictured, so they looked like squished cars (or maybe cars that runners had stood on top of and squished?). The also had some very intense red seasoning. We crunched in to find that the Runners were extremely crunchy, made from the same type of material as Fritos, except far crunchier. They had a fairly strong helping of spicy chile and lime flavor, with maybe some mustard in there too. The aftertaste was particularly hot ??and tasty too. Our search for snacks shaped like actual runners will have to continue, but for now, these will do.
